Update as of August 2, 2024: All kits now include black metal screws as the default option. If you prefer nylon screws for reduced weight and vibration, please indicate this in the order notes, and I will include those instead.
This kit allows for the use of two 120mm x 25mm fans and offers an optional sleeved 4-pin PWM fan adapter cable. Fans are not included. Please note that it's necessary to remove the stock fan shroud before installing this kit. Installing this bracket may potentially void your warranty, so it's advisable to consult with your video card's manufacturer before proceeding. To complete this modification, you'll need to remove or damage the circular "Gigabyte Qualified" sticker on top of one of the screws on the backplate. In comparison to my other kits, Gigabyte cards are more complex, including disassembling the heatsink from the PCB to access the shroud screws from beneath. Additionally, the bracket must be secured from underneath. The installation necessitates both a precision screwdriver and a regular screwdriver. This kit has been tested to fit inside the Cooler Master NR200 ITX series case and should also be compatible with larger cases. Following modification using standard fans of 25mm thickness, the total card thickness is approximately 60 mm (2.87 inches).
Testing conditions:
Ambient temperature of 25.3 degrees Celsius
FurMark 1.32 GPU stress test for 30 minutes
Testing results:
62 degrees Celsius with stock shroud fans at 3000 RPM (very loud)
84 degrees Celsius with stock shroud fans at 1300 RPM
62 degrees Celsius with Noctua NF-A12 PWM fans at 2000 RPM
Please note that your results may vary depending on the fans used, idle temperatures, and case configuration.
Please note that the optional cable uses a micro 4-pin connector designed to connect to the fan headers on the video card. This cable won't work with regular sized fan headers on motherboards.
